Glow Girl...

So ladies *insert long eye to eye stare LOL* let's have a pretty candid talk about your SKIN. Long before I decided to go to esthetician school, I've been obsessed with the health of skin primarily because of my line of work in the makeup industry.

I can't tell you how many times, I would get a customer that would come in and ask for a foundation whether it be a liquid or powder because her skin was oily.. At this point I would backtrack and ask about a skincare regimen... (9 times out of 10 she didn't have one) but whether she did or didn't, I always felt it was a very important conversation to have.

You see, life can be hectic at times, and maybe once out of the week you may be so tired that you forget to take off your makeup or forget your toner, but it's very important to have a daily routine that you follow to keep the health of your skin up to par. The healthier your skin, the better any type of makeup you choose to wear will look.

My personal routine includes, a cleanser, exfoliator (I use a couple times a week), toner, moisturizer and eye cream.

Now I don't use products all from the same brand, one because my pockets can't handle it LOL and two I like different products from different lines and collectively they give my skin great results.

Here's a small break down of the products I use and where they can be found in store (click for site):

With these different brands, you can get the smaller travel versions before investing in larger sizes but they are all definitely worth the investment. If the prices are a little too steep for your budget, research other brands that have the same effective ingredients but more cost effective.

Just Breathe...

The holiday has finally come and gone!! Now it's back to the hustle but to be honest, the day off was much needed!! Life can be so fast paced and hectic that you forget to just breathe and relax sometimes.

I'm one to say that I rarely take a breather, in between working two jobs and managing two businesses, I'm always doing something!! However yesterday, I actually took the time to sleep, do some online surfing, updated my website and doing things for myself. I find it very important to take time out for you and to stop focusing on the static around with friends, family, and work being some distractions.

I also took a little trip down memory lane, looking at my old blog and reading post from years ago. Reading how inspired my younger self was to write out my thoughts on my personal journey, as well as reviews on music, fashion & beauty. Looking thru the old posts re-inspired me to get back into blogging. Although my life is still at a somewhat fast pace, it has slowed down to a certain degree where I can get back to sharing content with everyone!

So I'm excited to get back into the swing of sharing with you all, and posting some great content!! If you want to see any reviews on products, or discuss any topics, leave me a comment on IG! Follow me: @carachanel_

Yes my title, is a little circa Destiny's Child "Bills, Bills Bills" LOL!! However this happens to be one of my favorite makeup topics next to flawless skin.

I’m always getting the question about how I define my brows to achieve a beautiful finish. First and foremost I always tell clients/customers alike to always if possible GROOM your brows!! This can be done with threading or waxing, I prefer both to be quite honest.

All of the pencils, brow gel and concealer can’t cover a pair of unkempt brows. Depending on the fullness and length of your brows, you can decide what product will work best for you. For ladies with fuller brows, I typically recommend a simple brow pencil like MAC Brow Pencil ($17) or Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Wiz ($22). If you have thinner brows and want a fuller look you can always try out a brow pomade. MAC and Anastasia both sell a similar product.

Another rule of thumb when it comes to defining brows is to follow what your bone structure gives you, never draw what’s not there. Even ladies that have little to no brow hair, I still follow the natural structure of their brow bone for the most natural look possible. Be sure to use a brow brush or a mascara spoolie to get the product evenly through your brows for an even color and distribution.

After filling in your brows to your desired liking, you can use a concealer (optional) to clean up your brows for a clean flawless finish. With this step be sure to BLEND BLEND and BLEND to avoid having a halo or harsh lines.
